Something's in the water
and it's making people not make any sense.

To me it seems like
every time I turn around
there's a brand new king and queen
sitting on a throne of
luck
or
fate
or
skill
or

whatever they claim to use
to butter their toast in the morning.

Some things
aren't so magical
that they deserve a
beautiful analogy

like a bullshit mural
in a circular room
I'm getting dizzy
just looking for a way out.

I remember someone telling me
that they've examined both
life and death
and neither appeals to them

but I bet they were alive when they said that.

good good. take yourself out of the poetry world itself and examine it. I like that a lot. it's very honest. the mural metaphor is ironic and perfect. then the perspective ending. I love that; that's how i think. Life death, but you're alive, and then it keeps on wrapping around itself forever.

the last line, and the bit about buttering their toast is my favorite. overall, this is a wonderful piece.

Me (suggestively): Yeah, I could do just about anything in the back of my truck. If you know what I mean...
Brae (seriously): Except land a plane.

I love your writing. It almost seems Vonnegut in its narrative and bluntness. Is bluntness a word?

Anyway.

I will stop talking now.

If bluntness is not a word then it is a word now. Thanks for the praise.
